A whole lot of random

I think I've adopted seasonal hate towards my job. I only hate it when it's Summer time and the weather is absolutely glamourous, much like today's.

What if, I can get out of work and..

Option A- Sleep in till noon and catch brunch at some shack/restaraunt on the sea side.

Option B- Get my fabulous ipod, a bathing suit, flip flops, glasses, some SPF 30 lotion (very very important) and go to the beach.

Option C- Something extra spontanious- drive to the airport and book the nearest day/return flight to Oman (or some other awesome and close-by spot I haven't been to).

OR maybe I should think of options when I actually HAVE the option to get out of work.

People who are unemployed, count your blessings.

2011 K4K trip

It's that time of year again, the 2011 K4K trip is just around the corner and we've officially started the application process.

The K4K trip will take place in Mombasa, Kenya as usual. The duration of the trip will be 3 weeks, from 02 July 2011 to 23 July 2011.

The objectives of this year's trip will be slightly different from the previous years. We're looking at 2 projects to conduct during the trip; an agricultural project in Barani community and starting the infrastructure for the MYCC (youth center) building.

During the trip, we will have two weekends, which we've planned a safari trip and a rafting trip respectively. Both should be plenty of fun.

I personally can't wait to get this trip started, if any of you are interested in volunteering (and are between 18 and 28 years old) let me know and we'll get you started with the application process.

For information on our previous trips, refer to k4k.loyac.org

.. and still crossing things off my list!

It's been almost a year and a half since I started this blog and created the 101 list.

I'm still in the process of going through the entire list, despite the fact that some of the items were cancelled.

So, while I'm at it, here's a quick update to what I've been doing:

- I've been eating meat. Yes, meat.

I'm not sure if I'm ever going to go back to being vegetarian, vegan or raw vegan, but I've been enjoying this so far. I've adopted a moderation regimen and it's worked well so far by maintaining my weight and avoiding drastic fluctuations.

The downside to this is that it's so comfortable. I'm literally incapable of losing weight. I still want to accomplish no. 52 on the list and I'm not too sure how to do it.

- I had a health scare late last year.

I was diagnosed with some Heart issues related to my heart's electricity. Eventually, I went to the UK to get a second opinion. After undergoing a series of tests and a tiny procedure, everything is back to normal.

- I'm planning on going to Kenya this Summer.

and I'm beyond ecstatic about it. During one of the weekends off of volunteer work with K4K, we're planning to go rafting and BUNJY JUMPING (no. 24 on the list)!!

So far, I believe these are the most significant highlights. Feel free to browse the 101 list and see which items I've crossed out.
