As I mentioned earlier, I quite often forget to get any food from home on way out to work. Those days, like today, tend to be the days I feel like I'm going to die from hunger.
Being the problem-solver that I am, I decided to order a moderate breakfast from Casper and Gambini, one the most ideal restaurants for raw vegan choices.
I ordered the 'Seasonal Fruit Salad'; seasonal fresh fruits- crisp, light and refreshing. And believe me when I say it was as far from refreshing as possible.
I don't understand why restaurants, till this day, are incapable of serving a 'good' fruit salad! Don't get me wrong, Le Notre had an amazing one the other day with their Lychee, but what about other restaurants?
If we want a healthier and fitter Kuwait, we need restaurants to provide fresh, healthy and finger-licking salads and fruit salads everywhere!
What's the point of serving fruit salads when they taste like plastic? If I wasn't raw vegan, I'd probably go for that Halloumi sandwhich instead.
I SAY BETTER FRUIT SALADS FOR A HEALTHIER KUWAIT!!
Fruits are fruits! Maybe I'm not understanding your innocent request for restaurants to provide 'good' fruit salads, but what do you mean exaclty? If they added cheese, mango juice, or anything else to bump up the taste it wouldn't be a very healthy choice for those who are watching their diets. chena ma6a7 ella enba6a7
ReplyDeleteI used to count calories. I ate nothing but an apple and a diet coke. But one day, I went grocery shopping and I found sugar-free fat-free Hesrhey's chocolate syrup. I also found some really low calorie biscuits or madri shesmhom very thin, very light it was like eating air. I bought those, bought lotsa strawberries and went home. I thinly sliced the strawberries and put them on a biscuit and drowned the whole thing with F.Free S.Free syrup. It was the best discovery I made in my whole life. I started living again. I'm enjoying chocolate again, guilt free of course. So there you go, what I'm trying to say is that you don't have to deprive yourself from anything, especially your favorite food! Just be creative, search harder on those shelves of Sultan Center, mix and match and you'll live in heaven ;]
Being raw vegan, my choices are very limited and hence an assortment of vegetables and a fruit salad seems to be a very convenient solution.
ReplyDeleteI call for a healthier Kuwait because when you walk in to one of the most wide-spread 'cafes' in town, Starbucks, you'll find almost no raw and fresh options for you to have. The choices come down to a fruit salad and the fresh orange juice.
I'm sure if people had more ready-made health-friendly choices out there, Kuwait wouldn't be one of the most obese nations in the world.
