In defense of myself and recent allegations against the raw vegan lifestyle, I've decided to look up the 'other view' on raw veganism. I've spent a good hour searching any leads on raw vegan 'malnutrition' or 'unhealthy' and I couldn't find a spec of data.
I did, however, find some falsified claims on a family that fed its newborn only raw vegan food. After their baby died, the couple were initially accused of manslaughter by starvation of their baby. It was later discovered that the baby had died from a birth defect.
Although irrelevant, you could read up the topic by Clicking here.
So, if any of you out there have hard evidence against this lifestyle, please let me know.
im sorry but you have to look harder! if you look at medical journals or books then youll know what im talking about. and i'm saying this out of concern, and because i'm going tob e a doctor in 2 months time!
ReplyDeletei agree that having a vegetarian or vegan diet decreases your cholesterol levels etc etc.. im not sure if youre eating beans, tofu, legumes etc which would be great sources of protein..
but anyway, you should probably look up vitamin b12 deficiency/anaemia, effects of calcium deficiency and bone mineral density, and youre already deficient in iron! and those are just a few of them.
with regards to the baby death. there are plenty of cases where crazy parents only feed their kids a similar vegan diet to them, and end up causing neurological deficits in the poor kiddies!

ReplyDeleteDr. LJ, what's a good raw vegan B12 source/ alternative?
ReplyDeleteHaneen, hospitals didn't exist once upon a time, so I'd understand if they preferred the 'natural' way.
